Pawlikowski Online and in London

BFI Screenonline has just had its regular monthly update, and while this online encyclopaedia of British film and television history rarely has much of especial relevance to this blog’s remit, it does now feature two pieces on Pawel Pawlikowski’s early work, written by my friend and Andrzej Wajda co-interviewer Kamila Kuc. They cover From Moscow to Pietushki (1990) and Dostoevsky’s Travels (1991), which are added to Chris Wiegand’s extant piece on his 2000 feature Last Resort.

The timing is particularly good – albeit coincidental – because the Riverside Studios Cinema in Hammersmith is having a short Pawlikowski retrospective in the second half of June, with personal appearances by the man himself. More details here.
